Phase 3, Day 4: Today begins the 4th day on the protein phase, and the hunger that I have been feeling is almost unbearable. Since I'm visiting my mother, and since many of our meals have been at her assisted living facility, I know I'm not getting enough food. I have stopped by Wendy's on the way back to the hotel the last couple of nights to get a salad with chicken to quell the hunger pangs, and so it has at least allowed me to sleep without the horrible pain in my gut. Have also kept some apples and milk in the little fridge in the room in order to have something to turn to in an emergency.
Am kicking myself for running off and leaving my scales at home, and I'm curious as to what my weight is - I've heard of people gaining because they didn't get enough fat, and that scares me! In the meantime, I'm doing my best to make the best decisions I can with each bite, and I feel good about the choices that I've made thus far.
Saturday night when I get home, I'm going to have a great big steak!

Hi, Susan! I'm glad you made it to your Mom's and I'm sorry you've been struggling. I guess that really is part of this journey, though, isn't it? It's great that you're able to journal about it and get some of the frustrations out--that's half the battle right there, getting it out instead of eating the wrong thing. I wanted to let you know that I also just started phase 3--and even though I've eaten a lot lot more than phase 2, I've stayed the same or within the 2 pound range! Every morning it shocks me when I see the number--because I know what I ate the day before. I haven't cheated, but I ate a lot of nuts and cheese, and one day I ate at Golden Corral. So you probably should just relax, and not get too worried about the scale right now. Probably you're staying the same, and if you're not you can have the steak day when you get back, as you say--but I'll bet you won't even need the steak day! Let us all know! Take care, Merry
Susan,
If you can find it (health food store, HyVee grocery store) fresh grated UNSWEETENED coconut is a good snack to carry around with you in a zip lock baggy. High in good fats and on the approved list.
Hi Susan - I live in Garland. Saw your post on Google. I signed up for the drugdelivery.ca weight loss membership . I wondered how you were able to get selected for the challenge? I have been reading the forums at myhcgjourney.com and think I am ready to order my hcg in the 5000 units. Still not sure if I want to inject or try it sublingually. From reading your post I will definitely do the longer round rather than shorter. I am 5'2"~178 lbs and need to lose 60 lbs. I admit I am somewhat squemish because of the needles which is why I am considering sublingually. There is a pharmacy in Dallas that compounds it into cream but I think the hcg is synthetic so not sure.
Are things going better?
Susan, I am new to the HCG compound and the diet plan, can you tell me how it is going and if you all have found that the injections work better than the cream, pills, liquids etc. Thanks. Ashley-Dallas, Texas
